The Beginning

I have always loved photography, looking at photos, taking photos, editing photos, all of it! I love having the ability to freeze a moment in time, capture a mood, and tell a story all with a click of a button. I started out young with the basic disposable cameras, quick snap shots of friends and objects. And when I got my first digital camera I was thrilled! It was a cheap little thing, only 3 megapixels and didnt take very clear photos but I was always using it. I had it with me everywhere I went and drove a few people crazy taking picture after picture of them.
When I got to college I decided there was no way I could survive without a nicer camera to capture every moment and memory with. So I set my mind on a DSLR! However, with a college budget I settled for a smaller upgrade to a Casio Exlim digital point and shoot camera. It was a great little camera and I got some great photos out of it, it was a very sad day when it got dropped in the sand and never recovered. All this time I was saving pennies and dimes for a nice DSLR camera, but anytime I got close to having enough extra cash to buy one, I had to buy a plane ticket, or text books, etc. So once again I settled for a nice point and shoot. This time I purchased a Panasonic Lumix. Great camera, great pictures! I still own this camera and use it frequently.
After getting married and draining my camera savings multiple times, I finally had enough money to go ahead and make the purchase. Maybe not enough to go high end and get a top of the line DSLR but enough for a starter camera. I purchased the Canon T3i, I picked this camera because of the video capability. With a baby on the way I knew it would come in handy. And so begins the learning process! I thought I knew enough about photography before, but then I saw all the settings and options that come with a DSLR and it blew my mind. So here is the beginning of my blog and the beginning of my quest to learn all I can and become a fantastic photographer!
